Why Mount Olive College?
The college is situated on a large expanse of land in a serene environment in Umunya, Anambra. It is accessible by land and air. By sheer providence, it is served by 3 airports – Asaba, Akanu Ibiam Enugu and Owerri, which is an added advantage, that distance is not a barrier to you giving your wards the quality education they deserve.
State-of-the-art Science and Language Labs, E-library, Functional Interactive boards, excellent Boarding House Facilities, Sports facilities, and a Multi-purpose Hall.
A team of qualified forward looking staff who help with the vision of the school in nurturing total children have been put together. It involves a committed, innovative group who in partnership with parents provide individual attention that each child needs to get to the top of his/her ‘mountain’ of excellence. The least staff qualified has a B.Ed/ or B.Sc/HND in the relevant teaching areas with an experience to teach and care for students.
4. Class Size
A maximum of 25 students in a class. This means that your child will not get swallowed up in the crowd. Your child will get the personal attention required.
A rich blend of the Nigerian and British curricula sets the students on that great pedestal to conquer their world. An added spice is the special emphasis to teach intently and impress consciously our local/indigenous culture which is fast eroding in a multicultural world. To finish off nicely, with sound formation, it is hoped that those graduating from MOC will also be prepared sufficiently to face life with a good sense of ethical values and a desire to make our world a better place.
6. Clubs/Extra Curricular Activities
Students in addition to a very rich academic work engage in other activities that help build character – like Scouting/Guiding, Dance and Drama, Entrepreneurship, Maths and Science club, Igbo club, Debating club, Chess club, French club, Reading club, Homemakers club etc.
